Staining antique dresser tops in the shop.

Tops have been sanding, vac’d and wipe down and applying some pre-stain to both dressers and they are both getting Weathered Oak from Minwax.

Using Valspar pre-stain being I had a new can laying around the shop and this stuff smells horrible, opened the door, put up a fan and on goes the respirator.  Man! Typically have used Minwax pre-stain or Old Masters wood conditioner, both of which do not smell anything like this.. lol 

Applying some Minwax oil based stain, doing two coats although video only shows one coat of stain each with a coat of pre-stain.

Just brushing on the stain and wiping off with a cotton lint free rag, I give it an hour or so to beath  with a fan running, before applying a second coat.
